Membership Application - Class of 2025

The Service Guild Logo

The mission of The Service Guild of Birmingham is to provide active and committed members dedicated to fundraising and assisting children at risk for developmental delay while maximizing their potential through a one-to-one therapeutic approach. We are a group of women who do this through a lifetime partnership with The Bell Center for Early Intervention Programs.

Each year, many babies are born prematurely in the central Alabama area with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy or other genetic disorders, causing physical and mental challenges which can jeopardize a bright future. The Bell Center for Early Intervention Programs is committed to maximizing the potential of children from birth to three years of age who are at risk for developmental delay. For more than 30 years, The Bell Center has been providing critical early intervention services including physical, occupational and speech therapies, special education services and nutritional counseling to these children. But more importantly, The Bell Center helps the families of these children as they begin the lifelong journey of providing for their children with special needs. The Bell Center currently has more than 104 children enrolled in its programs.

Membership in The Service Guild provides a terrific opportunity to share your talents and discover new ones. Service Guild members make a difference in the community while making lifelong friends. Each volunteer has the opportunity to work with a child in a one-to-one approach in The Bell Center classroom. In addition to working with The Bell Center’s students, Service Guild members have an opportunity to be a “BellRunner” and run in honor of a Bell Center child, participate in the annual spring Service Guild Gala, and much more.
